ยท To Teresa Guiccioli, Italian mistress of Lord Byron : 1 letter signed : 7 May 1824 : (B'ANA 0440) : from Imola : telling her that her husband has appealed to the Pope for an order obliging her to carry out her matrimonial duties on the plea that the allegations made against him were totally false. Teresa had left her husband, Count Alessandro Guiccioli, for Lord Byron in 1820. She would briefly return to the Count at some point in 1826, but finally obtained a legal separation from him by the end of that year.
